Hi -- Just Bought 04 WRX Also Have ?? About Starting

Hey,

Ive been looking around the forum for a while during the last few months and i finally picked up a 2004 black WRX sedan with 5k miles on it last week. Came with the short throw, turbo gauge, and 100k powertrain coverage. Think I got a good deal at $20k?? Already swapped out the 6 disk changer if anyone wants it let me know, its going on ebay in a few days. Planning on getting cobb stage 2, springs / struts, 17" wheels, new speakers to start off with. I need to order some snow tires soon, any idea what i could sell stock potenzas with 5k miles on them for? Anyone have a problem with starting the car when it has been sitting for about an hour or 2? It seems to take 5-6 seconds too long, happened to me on 2 occasions already.

As far as the starting issue goes, check out my thread. it is more or less a "subaru thing." You can pretty much take care of the problem by turning the key to the "on" position first, waiting about 5-10 seconds for the fuel pump to prime (you see hear sort of a buzzing noise) then starting it.

Yup let the pump prime and you should be all set.

unless you live in canada or colorado or somewhere with bunches of snow, the stock re92's should be just fine. they work well for me

Though you have to admit that there are much better tires out there. It makes the car 10x more fun to drive when you are running real tires.

very true. i love my summer tires. they are still on the car right now. stockers won't go on till it snows bad here....hopefully not till january
