Hi everyone, I have owned this sweet little honey for a little over a month now:

I got a helluva deal on it and am having tons of fun. I do have one question though, am I getting the right fuel economy?
I just filled the tank yesterday, and I went only 228 miles (all city driving, usually only a couple miles to and from work) on 13.333 gallons. I didn't go WOT at all on that tank because I wanted to find out my range.
Is that average for all city driving over short distances? There are no engine mods done save for a JET chip and AEM cool air intake.
Hi, congrats on your 02 very nice ( and the rims)

You didn't mention whether it was auto/manual.
You got 17 MPG, which is about 3 below what Subaru claims. City driving uses more gas, naturally.

For the city driving you're describing, that fuel economy sounds about right. Any mods you do to your car usually decrease fuel efficiency, but I'm not sure about just the chip and intake. I dont know what the chip does, so if it alteres fuel maps at all, then yeah, lower fuel economy can be expected.

bleh that's nothing. I live in a metropolitan city and average anywhere from 14-16 mpg all city driving. I usually never see anything past 210 miles (200 on average) on a full tank of gas. Lots of stop and go stuff.
I'm pretty much stock.
Manual all the way man! Not to be offensive but I don't see why anyone would get a automatic WRX.
How much of a difference do you guys see with often WOT bursts?
Not that it is THAT important, afterall if i cared that much about MPG I would get a civic![]()

yea that mileage sounds good. u are better off keeping the stock intake until you get a new turbo, chances are that the aftermarket intake you put on will hurt you cars performance.

welcome - I'm consistantly seeing 19-21 mpg on my 02, driving a combo of city/hwy miles.

Go stage 4. I was getting about 400 miles mostly highway driving in my WRX.
Much less in my STi though.![]()

Twisty Monster - 335 ft/lb of torque @ 3600 rpm on a stock turbo. Is that possible? Yes it is.
