Do whatever you want. I had wingless but went to the STi wing. I love the STi wing, but it's all personal preference. The only way I'd go wingless is with a CF trunk.

remember man, STI makes parts for the Impreza not just the WRX STi. you can always add STI parts to a WRX.
I have the STI wing and STI genome exhaust.
BUT I would NEVER brand my car with the actual STI emblem.

I have an sti wing on my 05 (came that way from the dealer), and the general public thought it was a sti but of course it wasn't. I didn't have the power to back it up though and got exposed several times. I have been @ stage II for a little over a year and now I feel somewhat liberated from the ranks of the posers as you call them since power levels (not handling etc...) are now level are sti range or better.
