    noob

HI everybody, just saying hello. I bought my 06 WRX about 9 months ago and just now able to start modding it. so far I've got HKS catback and my boost gauge is goin in. My helix down and up pipe are being ordered next week. Then hopefully I can get enough money saved up soon to buy an access port. Eventually i want to get either the VF-34 or the VF-39 ...... hopefully sooner then later but until then I will do small things along the way. I basically joined this forum to get more insight on mods, I am on other forums but might as well add another one to the list.

    Welcome to the forum!

I would invest in Engine Management before you put a downpipe on an '06. You'll likely run into boost creep problems. Also, there's no real need to go with an aftermarket up pipe for the '06 because it has a catless one already and flows fine for most applications. It will do fine with VF34/9 as well. I'd put that money (especially if you're paying to have it installed) towards an AccessPort.

    Welcome.

Like your mod path. Not common with n00bs. They all want bov's and turbo timers.

Wingless alas. Too bad it took a 50 ton truck to make it happen.

HA thanks well they both do nothing for our cars, bov's are only good for high boost and aftermarket turbos. Our turbos are water and oil cooled so i just dont see a point right now to have a turbo timer.

hmmmm has the boost creep happened to alot of people? bc if it will be a problem I might wait on the DP and UP for now and buy the accessport first.

If you get a DP with a high flow cat, creep shouldn't be a problem. If you go with catless DP and keep the rest stock, you 'may' not have creep issues. The OE UP does not have a cat on 06 MY, so you most people don't bother with it. Here is a good thread on creep.

Welcome...and as stated before no need for the up-pipe. And try to get the AP on there for stage 2 goodness.

You have good knowledge. BOVs are for ricers! Or for really high horsepowered cars. LOL
