I have the MOMO King. Momo makes a lot of really nice knobs and they have a large selection to choose from.

You can search for all of these terms on here.

BOV- Responsible for the woooosh sound. Causes a lean/rich condition that is dangerous to the engine. Makes the car run rough, spit black smoke and hurts the engine.

Turbo Timer- Leaves engine running after shutdown to cool turbo. Waste of money on a Subaru. They are oil and water cooled, water is scavenged from the cooling system cooling turbo when the car is shut off.

    Boost controller
    - Allows you to manually "turn up boost". This is bad because it doesn't remap the ecu settings to correspond to the increased boost. This leads to a lean condition which can make the car go boom. A boost controller is only semi-useful on highly highly modified cars.

Basically 2 of these can blow his car up and one is a waste of money.

You could get him a front license plate cover-up. It's the only just-for-looks upgrade I've got on my car ($40):

Then here's the best gift ever:

    FAQs from NASIOC.

Print out all the pages from that link--they are an intimate guide to our subies. Then you can put them in a nice booklet, and he can keep it in his car for a reference of what to do, and more importantly, what not to do!

Thanks SO MUCH...Really appreciate the info and will definitely pass it onto him...so I'm thinking either a new knob or a boost gauge at this point...

    Anne,

If you want to get him a little bit of everything then talk to world one. This is what I did:

I can haz a Prodrive goodies? Get them here!

$200, but you get a bunch of stuff (shift knob, floor mats, etc..).

You should probably give us a range as to what you're willing to spend. "
Nothing too expensive" is a relative term.

Um... Well I dont know how die hard he is, but I'll just shoot out some stuff I want...

Subaru Rally Flag, or STi Flag or banner to hang in the garage or office.
Die Cast WRXs are nice to decorate the office or bachelor pad.
You can find those on Ebay pretty easy..
