Smile dsm'er turned subi(im new here:)

Hi, well i just purchased a 2003 wrx. for many years i was a dsm 4g63 fan and as we all know, that means i spent ALOT of time working on my car. so ive sold all the dsm stuff and turned subi. going from knowing all there is to know about the 4g63, to knowing near nothing about my subi i turn to you, the veterans, to help me learn the most i can.
As for myself, sorry for the lack of introduction, my name in Phillip and I am 19 years old, I live in covington washington and work as a technician at a ford dealership. as for my car, as stated, its an 03 wrx it has fucll hks exahust, hks intake, greddy recirculation valve, and boost controller with turbo timer and(obviously) boost gauge.now i have a quick question, and yes i know the search button is my firend b ut may you allow me one freebee?, i was driving my car the other night, rather hard, and i felt a mis then my check engine light came on(still have not checked the code) but im thinking it could be due to the boost controller. i dont know if this is right but i have herd that you should not run a boost controller on a wrx, so should i removed the boost controller and use the stock setup, i dont know if the restrictor pill is still installed, or is it safe to run the boost controller and perhaps turn it down a bit? thank you for anyhelp and i look forward to getting to know you all in the forums.
