In modern day Turbo's you don't need a turbo timer because there is a coolant reservoir that sits near the turbo and when it is turned off it flows into the turbo to cool it. No need for a turbo timer.

I've heard arguments from both sides on this issue. I still have mine & will continue to use it.

Theres no argument. Coolant flows into the turbo and cools it. Old Turbo's did not have that. Therefore they needed a turbo timer. You can waste your $ but dont tell other people to do the same.

im about to install a turbo timer , but for the most part i let her run for a bout 5 mins or more before i turn her off
yea that philosophy wont last too long. drive it like it was meant to be driven. lol whats the stage fright for?

just take care of it with regular oil changes, brakes, tire rotations, etc. one VERY IMPORTANT thing is to get urself a good EMS. there are several to choose from. IMHO, and from personal experience, the Cobb version 1/2 (version 2 being the best and most up-to-date) AccessPORT is the way to go for bang-for-buck tuning.

most bolt-on mods wont really hurt the car that much. but make sure u have that EMS to keep the car in good order.

i agree with the others in saying u dont need that turbo timer. i myself have done the "let it idle for 5 mins" thing myself too. it doesnt really help much but just burn gas for another 5 mins lol.

dont be afraid of ur car. do things step by step. learn the car and its strengths/weaknesses and you'll b ok
