    Just purchased an 04 WRX

    Hi guys,

Found this forum through a google search, seems very informative. I'm coming from a world of late 80's 300zx's so i'm expecting the world of subaru wrx's to be quite different.

Here is the WRX I got. I payed 16000 for mine and think I got a pretty good deal. The blue book was 17 and he has over 5000$ in extra's.

Any new owner resources or threads I should look for would be appreciated.

Make sure you get that uppipe installed. It'll help your turbo spool much sooner and insure that cat doesn't explode ruining your turbo.

He says there is no cat on the car currently. I figure if I take it to an inspection place they will look at it and pass the car, considering these are awd they will not be able to test emissions.

He did mention installing the uppipe would add some power.

Some places don't have awd testing facilities.
Heck, in the county where I live there is no emissions testing.

    Welcome!

By the way your car isn't safe from emissions...they just stick the reader up the tailpipe and rev the motor. heh that sounded funny

Anyway it's the old way of doing emissions testing......but it also depends on where you live. My car is registered in Eastern WA and they don't require emissions testing...it's BFE.

Good luck with the new car...did I mention it looks puurrrrty?
