    Another new member

Hey folks. New member here in Raleigh, NC.

Sadly, I've been forced to get rid of my pride & joy ('05 Boxster ), but I should be taking delivery on my '06 WRB WRX some time this week. I have to admit, after perusing the nasioc boards, I was beginning to have severe reservations about my choice of cars, but I'm feeling much better about it after looking through posts around here.

I'm sure I'll have plenty of stupid newbie questions as I get accustomed to my new(ish) car, but we all gotta start somewhere, right?

    -Elliott

    Hi Elliott.

Welcome to the club. The Boxster design was a great step for Porsche. Put a roof on it and you now have a Cayman. You will have plenty of fun with the WRX.

Thanks, guys. I'll post some better pics once I actually get the car, but these are a couple from the dealership. They'll have to do for now.

    and welcome to The Club!!!!

So why'd you 'have' to get rid of the Boxster?

Basically, it came down to money. I just can't afford to make that kind of payment every month anymore. It'd be great to keep it, but the time has come for me to move on and free up some income for those other things in life. Like food. And rent. I've always been a fan of the Imprezas, though, so I'm pretty excited about getting the WRX.

Welcome.... but I thought that "RollTide" was an Alabama thing? I hear that SOOOOOOO much at my home station. Sorry to hear that you had to let the boxter go. My pops has a 1980 928 porsche (w/ about 34k original miles on it that I'm begging him to let me have. I might just have to fight him for it.

RedSubie: Roll Tide is an Alabama thing. I went to school at UA and look forward to a great football season this fall. I may not live in Alabama anymore, but I still support my team! Also, I know several guys here in the local PCA club with 928's. Those are seriously sweet cars. You'd do well to get ahold of that.

96accord: For the most part, they've done fairly well by me. As far as I can tell, all the issues I've encountered were due to situations well outside of anyone's control. (As a plus, they offered me the option, which I jumped at, of having the lame Carmax logo removed from the car before I take delivery)

I just got back from the dealership and signing most of the paperwork. I'll be taking delivery of my WRX on Saturday if everything goes according to plan. It was really hard for me to give up the Boxster, but I can't help but be excited at the prospect of driving the WRX. I've always been a fan of the car, but this will be the first one I've owned.
