[QUOTE=RollTideRex;1872268]RedSubie: Roll Tide is an Alabama thing. I went to school at UA and look forward to a great football season this fall. I may not live in Alabama anymore, but I still support my team! Also, I know several guys here in the local PCA club with 928's. Those are seriously sweet cars. You'd do well to get ahold of that.

lol.....I HATE IT when football season starts! It seems like that's the only thing on everyone's mind in montgomery, lots of keggers though.

Paint's still good & it's in overall good condition, but he said that it needs a fuel pump & it hasn't been started in atleast a year. He told me that he'd let me have it for $6,000. I'm seriously thinking about it..... or just jacking him for it...lol

Well, after much trauma (including being forced to drive an '05 Sentra for the last six days), I finally took delivery on my WRX. I haven't had much time to exercise it very much yet because I got it on my lunch break. I think I'll take it out for a long drive after work tonight.

Red: I think for $6k, I'd jump on that. Sounds like you could replace a couple of parts and have a sweet second car. From what I understand, those are great cruisers. Let me know what you decide.

    Day 2 with teh WRX

True to my word, I went out last night and went for a drive to acclimate myself to the new car. Unfortunately, on the way back to the house, I smacked into a brand new Vibe. I got lucky, though. The WRX (or should I say WREX) didn't really sustain any damage . Crashworthiness isn't one of the qualities I was looking to test.

Anyhow, I'm getting somewhat more accustomed to the car. I'm not sure that I could have picked a car any more different than the Boxster if I were trying. The WRX is a much quieter car in general. I'm able to hold a conversation without having to yell over engine noise. That's a plus. The whole turbo lag thing is a new concept for me, though. All my previous cars have been NA. They've also been primarily RWD. I kind of like the grab that AWD provides when taking off.

All in all, I'm enjoying the car. I'm sure it will be even more fun once I figure out how the car likes to be driven.

Yeah, the Vibe has a nice dent in the bumper/tailgate. As to fault, I think I'm going to wait on the insurance companies and police to make that determination. I'm actually a pretty good driver, I just got caught out relying on my peripheral a little too much. The insurance agent should be giving me a call here shortly. He's going to come out to the office and give me an estimate.
