WRX TR, Lifespan of vehicle, redlining

    Hi everyone

I just bought a 2006 WRX TR. Driving is fun now Sometimes I just head off out of town for the fun of driving. Anyway, I have almost 3k miles on it. I was fairly gentle on the breaking period and I'm not that much of a crazy driver. I do like to push it once in awhile though. How long can I expect this car to last? I have never driven a vehicle like this before, My last car was a chevy lumina, and I always called it a piece of crap but it lasted 11 years with no major problems, have 160k miles on it now, still no major problems. Also, how bad is redlining my car? Does it automatically shut off flow so its no big deal? Or will I blow up my engine. I don't intentionly redline but......

    Thanks

Your fine, the vehicle is designed for "spirited" driving. I dont see any reason why you cant get well over 150k.

For sprited driving I don't see much of a reason to redline. MY06 seems to die off after 5500rpm so I don't see much reason to redline it. Even with the stage 1 map I feel the same

i have my 02 to 94k, my 04 STI to 90k so i dont see why they cant make or shouldnt be good for 200k miles easily
