    New to Boost!

I finally bought my first Subaru. 03 WRX. Test drove it and bought it same day. Anyways I'm very new to daily driving a turbo car. And the gearing is very different compared to my Civic Si I have. I seem to have a problem with building boost from regular driving. Is that normal? It don't even seem like I'm giving it a quarter throttle and it's spooling a little. I didn't know if that was normal or if that would hurt it? Also how do I know if my WRX has a optional Subaru skid-plate (rear differential)? I read HKS exhaust systems won't clear that? And I plan on buying an HKS exhaust in the future.

Odds are high you don't have the skidplate. Also, consider other exhaust choices, there are alot of nice solutions out there. Bosal, Perrin, Cobb, Cusco, and Helix are a few that pop to mind. A turboback and a tacktrix cable will take you pretty far.
