New to the forums, just purchased my first WRX

I finally got my first new car, and one I have always wanted. It is an O6' WRX TR, rally blue. Sellin' my 98 Audi A4. It is really hard to keep this car below 4000 rpm for the break in period. My mom tried it out and took it to 5000 once already... :-( i think it'll be alright though. I don't plan on doing any mods, I like it just fine stock.

Glad to find this forum, it seems very helpful, I know i will be spending a lot of time here.

Nice that's cool Similar story right after I drove mine home, 300 mile trip, my mom took it for a drive and I told her to take it easy and she ran it on up to 6000rpm It was actually funny she opened it up before I did.

    Welcome to the club,

I think as long as you donít hold it at redline while braking it in your not going to hurt anything (as long as it is warmed up). I did so much dam research on the topic when I got my 06 I just ended up doing my own thing that for the most part fallowed the manufacture recommendation.

The WRB 06 are awesome, really cool car.

yea, i was a little paranoid about the whole break-in thing too, did some research and cant seem to find any answer thats completely concrete. I am not going to worry about it that much, and just treat it tamely for the rest of the break-in, ...cheating maybe every once in a while.

According to these people - your suppose to drive it like you stole it... so yeah, just what ever works I guess. I'm at 3k so far and really I don't think it matters too much.

I suggest one little mod, lowering springs.Looks so much better without that huge gap in the front.
