Another Subie Nubie, Glad to be Here.

    Hi All!

Bought my first Subie two months ago - 07 WRX TR. What a car! The pic was right after I first got it. Since then I have tinted the windows, installed a custom radar detector/laser shifter, installed an Alpine/iPod/JL Audio sound system.

Based on recommendations from some of you here, I have ordered and will soon get Rally Armor Flaps. I'm thinking of doing a few more things:

    1) Lower it - what's the best way/hardware?
    2) Darken the headlights - is this a tint process?

Also, I read one post here that recommended installing 04-05 tails; I assume this means tail lights, right? How are they different? Are they remove and replace?

    Also Also, what is BOV?

    Thanks in advance!

BOV is blow off valve (Dont' buy one)

Don't tint your headlights, they look great the way they are.

You can buy just springs to lower the car for around ~$300.

    And fourth, welcome!
    Stage II and loving it!

    Hey, welcome to the club!

    1) Lowering - minimum requirement is a set of springs that work with the stock struts. Eibach Pro Kit, Prodrive, etc etc. $300 or less.
    2) Darkening - you can bake your headlights, pop the glass off, then take the chrome housing in yours and paint it flat black, grey, or any color. Do not tint it, as that will reduce its effectiveness at night.
    3) Tails - yes, you can swap the 06/07 tails for 05/04 w/o modification.
    4) BOV - Blow Off Valve. That is the device that makes the PSST or WHOOSH sound when you shift. It is BAD for our and most turbo cars that run a MAF sensor where ours is located.

    Welcome!

From the pic, it looks like you got a Standard WRX? I thought TR's didnt have painted mirrors, fog lights, spoiler, etc.

    Yep

    Hi Ly,

You're quite right, sorry for the errored post. I nearly bought a TR but the straight WRX amenities appealed to me. Thanks for the correction.
