I did not think I wanted an STI because, being another family man, I liked the utility of the Wagon. I did not know they used to make a Wagon STI. Geeeeemanetti!!!! If they'd had an 06 STI wagon available, I'd have spent the extra dough.

    Great looking car!

Lots of nice comments here. Thanks a lot. Most of what I've heard from my wife and friends is that it's either crazy, or ugly, or both. So it's nice to hear some opinions a bit more like mine.

No, it's not factory. It's the ventilator cover, but there is no ventilator. It must have been attached by the previous owner. So I was planning to take it off, since I don't like body kit stuff that is not functional. But then I thought about it, and I think that it's the only wagon with a ventilator cover in the area.

I decided to leave it on for now because it was part of the car that made it look bad-ass when I first saw it. I'll probably take it off in the future. It used to say SUBARU on it, which I already took off.

There is chrome trim on the doors, which might look cheesy but is functional. The parking spots here are so so tight. My last car picked up about 20 door marks in 2 years. The door trim won't stop other peoples doors from marking the sti, but when I open the doors, there's a bit of a buffer. I wouldn't have put it on myself, but I don't think it looks that bad.

I took a few more photos of the car. I don't know why people complain about the interior so much. I think it looks quite nice. At night it looks even better.

I like the radio display below the HVAC controls - very futuristic looking!
"The way a press launch for a new car works is, a car manufacturer flies a group of automotive journalists to a nice location, pays their expenses, wines and dines them for several days, and lets them drive the new car all over the place. Then they go home and write objective stories."

Even with the low gas mileage, that thing is a family car, with good safety ratings. It'll own 95% of the cars that want a piece of you and will be a reliable car all around. Good choice
