Hey, 1st welcome the club! Be sure to check out the New England forum here. We are a pretty close knit group and we have tons of meets. http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/new-england-states/

2nd, the STi is a great car and very fast. However, a lot of STi owners arent the greatest at driving (they just went out and bought the car b/c it its fast), so you will see STi's running slow at the track. The STi will run a low 13 stock, just like an Evo 8. Evo 9 runs a 12.9 or less. They are monsters. Now your friends said DSM's, do they mean real DSM's or an Evo, cus its not a DSM. Either way, yes a GSX or GS-T could be made into a monster at the track for cheap. But then you get crankwalk issues.

3rd, K&N short ram, and a Turboback exhaust (any company) ie remove a cat or two, flash w/ Cobb or some engine management and you will be running a into the 12's.

That link shows some crazy numbers. Good luck with that. We are all jealous of the 07's.
