    not quite a subie owner

Hey everyone. I figured I would join the forums and read up as much as I can. I plan on buying a 2004 Sti this spring. Right now I drive a 1995 Mercury Cougar V8. Transmission is going senile (slipping and leaking), getting it looked at monday. Hopefully it can last me until I can really afford a nice car. I guess waiting until the spring is better anyway because I'll be somewhat marked as a safe driver. No tickets or anything since my accident (RIP Camaro). Right now gas mileage cant take a hit because I'm getting 15-16 in my cougar, and the insurance couldnt be much worse (Camaro reference again - unmarried teenage male with no kids driving a red 2 door sports car, doesn't get much worse)

I hope to learn a bunch. Done a lot of reading so far tonight and I'm learning a lot about turbo's

I used to drive a 94 cougar that was modified slightly. I miss that car, should never have sold it 2 years ago. Mine was very clean, pearl white with low miles. 94-95 mn12 tbirds and cougars have ****ty transmissions so it will probably go on you soon. If its in good condition keep it, mod it for cheap and you will have a decently quick car.
