    Noob here

What's going on all just wanted to make a formal introduction to the board

    Name: Jamie
    Age: 18
    Sex: Male
Job: Loan Processor/Loan Officer (HCI Mortgage) haha shameless plug
    Driving: 1999 Saturn SL (hahahaha)
What brought me here: I always loved the Impreza and STI and wanted to get to know some people wh own these cars.

I will confess something (I hope I don't get flamed for this!!!)....I actually am torn between the STI and the Evo MR. Love the STI, but I love the Evo just as much.

I know I drive a Saturn (hey it's great on gas and good on insurance) but I'm looking to get a Impreza for now as a new car from someone here or from a dealer.

Looking forward to talking and meeting some new and interesting people.

    Welcome to the club!

Generally speaking, you won't get flamed for loving EVOs here. It's an awesome car too.

Sweet, on other boards I'm part of there are nothing but true die-hard fans of particular cars, espeically Honda. I'm not personally a Honda guy and I don't think much of Hondas at all for the exception of the s2000 ONLY HONDA I'D DRIVE.

+1 We have several EVO owners who regurlarly post on our forum...shoot, even Cobra, 350z, Honda Hybrid, and SRT-4 owners. We're pretty much 'car enthusiasts' all around.

Also, the Evo Vs. STi has been a heavily debated topic here. What it always comes down to is user-preference, so test drive both and then decide!

EVO's are faster - but the Impreza is better put together than the Lancer.

I have friends who own both. The EVO's are constantly having problems. My friend with an '03 just called me today to tell me his x-fer case is making grinding noises below 45 and a high pitched whine above. He's also on his 2nd engine.

It's your money, and I'm biased because I love my subie. However, those 4G63's are monsters, shame the rest of the car isn't up to the task. Also, if you are considering AWD, get ready to learn to drive stick all over again - there are some subtle differences in the way you drive an AWD car. Mainly that you shouldn't be trying to spin the tires, traction rules. Once you drive AWD, you'll miss it anytime you drive FWD/RWD.
