new here because i just bought a black 06 sti...

hey anyone know a site to order 18" black rims for an STI that isnt crazy expensive cause i just wiped out 28 grand for the car.... i would like a wheel/tire package if anyone knows a site? Remember i want black rims so its tougher, i looked somewhat on the net so far and couldnt find any sites....thanks....oh and i was thinking of putting a blowoff valve on too but i heard people saying no to that a lot cause it messes the engin up i guess? anyone know more about this too?

    Welcome to the club!

I'm not a fan at all, of the after market bov (the OE works great) or rims larger then 17"(seems like it usually just adds more unsprung weight) on the Subies but to each his own. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

    Greetings and welcome!

Please read the Good First Mods sticky in this forum. The best BOV for your car is the one Subaru installed. There are literally hundreds of threads here explaining this.

Black wheels? I would not go too cheap - you want strength, safety and reliability over all else. Really cheap wheels may not give you that.

    Hello and welcome!!

If you're looking for some nice black wheels check out The Tirerack, they have a nice black forged wheel from Motegi called Track Lites. Motegi is also a subsidiary of American Racing Wheels (just some extra info). Axis also has a nice four spoke wheel in flat black, but those are Cast...

As for the BOV, everyone else above me already answered that question.. BOV=BAD

Powder coating the STi wheels black can look pretty nice. The STi BBS wheels are great.

    Welcome.

Bov = bad idea, everyone will tell you that.

Rims - www.subydude.com get a nice set of Rota's (lots of styles, lots of colors, and they are nicely priced). No, they arent as expensive or bling as BBS, but they are a lot cheaper for a better style.

Oh and DONT powdercoat your BBS rims. Forged rims are weakened by the powdercoating process and can break.
