    Yo, just stumbled upon this site looks like it is the place for WRX talk. Just got a 06 STi. Still breakin in the engine. Looking forward to learning about mods. Anyone know whats up with the 93 octane gas thing? I have only seen 91. What should I do?

    You will do fine with 91. Subaru knows there are states who have 91 octane as their maximum.

    +1 for pics! And as it's been mentioned, 91 octane will be just fine. If you're worried at all, you can get some Engine Management, which will totally increase your performance as well. Cobb makes really good Stage 1 and Stage 2 MAF maps purely for 91 octane.

    The factory knock sensor will retard timing for the 91 octane, you should see an improvement in performance with 93 if you can find it.

    +1 to Cobb AP and 91octane maps - very small investment for what is probably the single best mod (Engine Management).
