    Smile Considering a WRX

hey everyone Im new to this site, and just wanted to say hi. Right now I have a 2004 infiniti FX35 with some mods (exhaust, intake, rims, sub, etc.). I love the WRX and am looking into a 2005ish STi in black or white or maybe a 2006, they've been growing on me recently. Ive been looking around here since I signed up (yesterday) and you guys got a great site here and I cant wait to get the STi. Just wanted to say hi.

I was just wondering what people think of the white pearl and the black. since Im thinking of either a 20048-2005 or 2006 I just want to know what people think of the two colors. Also does the black chip easily or is it strong paint?

The paint is chip prone no matter the color.

Black is hard to keep clean and free from swirls; white is not. The same with the chips - white > black.

Not to discourage your purschase but if you are paying this car in attempts to keeping the paint prestine then you'll have another thing coming.

These cars are extreamly fun, I'd suggest getting the newest and lowest model vehicle you can afford as there are very few differences between 04-06 STI's. The 07 STI has some different gearing and an apparent ECU issue they are trying to iron out. Good luck.

while the black (true with any black car) is hard to keep clean, there is NOTHING in this world classier than a clean black car (especially if it's a 5th Gen Lude)

I'd go with the blobeye (05) imo

The paint is almost universally a disaster. Black in particular is catastrophically bad and may re-fan the flames of the debate over capital punishment in many states. Get yourself a new 06 with a warranty from a good dealer (many are just as much a clown in denying fair coverage as their clients are in modding the car and putting junk parts on it that then cause damage, so pick a dealer wisely) and go for one of the newer grays, as they seem to show light scratches less IMO, or, if you can find one, a red just for the rarity factor. Look at the limited with the smaller spoiler and the leather if you've got coin.

I get the feeling you do not like the paint ... who does?

The silver I have also "hides" the chips well.

well right now my FX is Diamond Graphite which is the Dark grey. I kinda want to move away from grey. I think Im leaning towards the white, its a little less work and can still look nice if maintained.
