um, i haven't really noticed any performance gaines over the stock box. I had a k&n filter in the stock box , with a snorkel delete, so very hard to tell. I think i remember reading somewhere that the cai only produces like .5 hp anyway. I just love the sucking sound it makes, sound like and air compressor and it makes the turbo whine louder too,. in my opinion. I love it and to me, leaving the intake scoop helps bring in more cold air so the temp under the hood isn't so high. i have plans to make a mini cowl induction scoop over the left side where the intake is, if u look at ur hood there is a spot of the hood where the brace is missing, alittle square piece that at the exact right place.......i'll post some pics if i ever get the guts to carve up my hood!

COOL! Thanks for the quick reply! I too think that my intake is more for show then go. But I do like the sound it makes as I shift carefully though those six gears!

I also think that the spt is prolly designed(maybe some short rams) so if u ever upgrae to a front mount u dont have the intake in the way. from what i've seen there are a few ppl with realllllly short rams cause thier front mount piping passes right through there

My SPT Intake looks JUST like yours with the EXCEPTION that its head (?) is pointed towards the right front headlight. If I would have had the chance (which I did not as my car CAME with all the SPT stuff on it from the dealer) I would have just gone with a K&N inside the stock airbox and been done with it. Well once I get my 1000 miles and an oil change I will see what this car CAN really do. (Probably get me arrested!)

Muddy and clean - very nice!

Do you know of the problems an intake can cause with the MAF?

    Me, NO!

I have the sinking feeling my dealer installed SPT "Power Pack" is going to be more trouble then it is worth. Well at least on the intake/CAI side. I do enjoy the sound the exhaust makes now.

    I was asking garisonREX.

I know many have little or no measurable issues with aftermarket intakes. The stock air box is more than up to the task of providing plenty of air.

Just what does the "Power Pack" consist of?

    Sorry I did not realize.

The SPT "Power Pack" Consists of:

    1) A $500.00 SPT Performance Exhaust System
    2) A $210.00 SPT High flow Air intake system
    3) A $90.00 SPT Heat Shield

In addition I got a SPT Oil cover worth at least .007 bhp and (hold on now!)
an SPT Battery clamp holder for all the BLING-BLING you could ever want.
Don't get me wrong I DO like this car!

I tried to takes pics SPT info sheet and those are my two attachments below.

    No need to be sorry.

As long as you are happy - that is all that counts.

Can you please post a pic of the heat shield?

    No I don't think I can

The SPT info sheet does NOT have any pics of the heat shield and as I look at my STI all I see is a plastic cover under the intake that I am guessing is the heat shield. MY attempt at pics don't do any justice. As to what I can see it looks as there is no metal heat shield under this intake. I can't believe SPT would use plastic. I wish I could be of better assistance to you.
