    Hi

Just wanted to say hi. From the Chicago area.
I should be a new owner today or tomorrow of a brand new 2006 wrx sedan 5 speed.
Its red with black interior TR model.

I am trading in a lightly modded 2005 Nissan Altima 3.5 5 speed. I love the car but I got a great deal on a new wrx and they are just too much fun to drive, not to mention the safety and reliability of the wrx's impress me.

Can anyone post pics of their red wrx's??
I dont usually see that color on these cars. Is it rare??

    -Jason

    and welcome to The Club!!!!

When it comes to WRXes, red is pretty rare! I'm sure some members will happily post some pics of theirs!

Congrats on your new purchase! I'm sure you'll thoroughly enjoy her. What mods did you have on the Nissan? And post up some pics of your former and new ride!

Ill post pics when I get the car. Hopefully today or tomorrow but the weather here is bad right now.
I had just bolt ons with the altima. Intake, exhaust, pulley, safcII tuned, lightweight rims, short shifter and some appearance stuff. Car did pretty well though for what it was.
Ran 14.0x at the track even with some traction problems but unfortunately with the fwd thats is pretty much the best I could muster out of the car.
FWD sucks if you want to put any power to the ground, which is why I will have awd now.

Guys, how safe are the new wrx's??
I was just looking at the reviews and it looks like they rated the imprezza as gold standard.....then it says EXCEPT for the wrx model. What is the difference??
I have all of the same safety options that the non wrx model has with side impact protection.
    Kinda worries me now.

The WRX is extremely safe (and reliable)! They may discount the WRX model some because of it's high horse power ratings (does it even mention the STI). If you do more research (and search around the club a bit!) you'll see lots of evidence that support the safety of our Subarus...with reinforced a-pillars and AWD systems, WRXes are some of the if not 'the' safest sports car out there!

For an interesting (maybe slightly extreme) case, you can read about a guy who got sandwiched between two semis in his WRX and walked away with a few scratches. http://www.bongmonster.com
