    New to the Mod's....need advice

I have had my 2004 WRX for a short time and I am ready to start the Mod's. Below is a list of what I have done so far.

    Cold air intake
    Header with up pipe
    Down pipe - exhaust
    Underdrive pulleys
    Boost Gauge

I have a few questions now though.

Since I have installed these Mod's I have been getting the Check Engine light coming on. The Subaru dealership says that the engine code is for the engine saying there is something wrong with the cat's. They reset it and it came back on in aprox 150km, they also said that this is common. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what is causing it and how do I fix it?

I have also purchased a GReddy type RS BOV but now I am unsure about installing it after reading some bad opinions of BOV's. If I do install it I am also unsure of the install process.

I am a new WRX owner and have been looking forward to this car for a long time so any opinions and advice would be a great help in my car quest. Thanks in advance and lets get this baby flying.

    Greetings and welcome!

The cold air intake is not a good choice for a WRX as it skews the MAF sensor readings. The downpipe and / or uppipe could cause your CELs.

Stay away from BOV as you have read correct - they are not good for a WRX.

Read and search here and you will see what I mean.

You are getting the cels from the uppipe/downpipe. this can be fixed with a cobb accessport it will also allow you to run the stage 2 map.

You can find a used one on here or Ebay. You can also wait for the new model. Everyone seems to think it will be worth the wait. If you do go with the Cobb AccessPort you'll definately need to avoid the BOV and put your stock air box back on. If not, you'll need to pay for a ProTune to adjust for your intake.

Not one person mentioned anything about the underdrive pulleys? Any reason you installed them?
