Dodge Dakota got totalled, got an 06 WRX TR

    Hey guys,
So I was at the Subaru dealership a couple weeks ago looking at Subarus but I knew I couldnt afford one at that time because I wouldnt be able to get enough for my truck to put into a downpayment. My roomate was with me and I told her, "I wish my truck would just get totalled and have me not in it and have it not be my fault of course." Shes like ya that would be cool. So the very next night I am in my house and i hear a big crash outside. I was like WTF and ran outside. Well it just so happens that my neighbor was driving home drunk and slammed into my 2001 Dodge Dakota going about 50 mph and totally destroyed the truck. I mean he ripped the whole rear axle off of the frame. He ended up having current insurance so that was good. So 2 days later they considered it a total loss and gave me way more than I could ever sell it for. I ended up out of the situation with a $5k down payment on the WRX and I couldnt be happier with the car. Heres pics of the truck and of my new car. Surprisingly, the truck was the best running vehicle I have ever had. It had balljoints replaced once under recall and the cat converter replaced under emissions warranty. The check engine light never came on and it never had anything wrong with it, it had 87,000 miles on it when it got totalled and I bought it when it was 1 year old, it had about 22,000 miles on it. The Subaru had 9 miles on it when I bought it.

the frame was bent, the driveshaft was totalled. the transmission was totalled, it was pushed forward about 5 inches. 1st 3rd and 5th gears hit the dashboard where there used to be about 4 inches of clearance. the rear axle was all the way ripped off of the frame where it was rivetted to it. they said it needed a whole new frame for it to be safe
