Purchasing an 05 STi

I joined this website because of what the topic says. I have a Acura RSX Type S as of this time. Its turbocharged 277whp/215wtq@8psi. Its a fun ride. But now I am getting an STi. Can anyone tell me what to expect when my car comes in and I take it out for a test drive? I know it should be a better drive with the AWD. Well anyways, any thoughts and or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I had an Acura RSX Type-S, bone stock though, before I got my WRX. Two tips: 1) The six speed in the RSX shifts quite a bit nicer than the six speed in the STi. 2) You're not really going to be thinking about the transmission too much. The sheer grip and amazing handling of the STi will paint a big grin on your face.

I will be but I was just asking what differences I will see. Plus I only want to test drive the WR Blue STi that I will be purchasing.

The Sti is SOOO much more car than the RSX, even with the turbo you had. Once you go to Subaru AWD, there's really no going back (especially to FWD, maybe rwd). Keep us posted and put up some pics asap.

ya, awd is the way... and the 6 speed doesn't shift as smooth as the rsx because its a high perf. tranny and its stiff and solid. The closer a car comes to being a racecar the less smooth and comfortable everything gets. it comes stock uncomfortable but fun as a car can be for under 50k. check out this vid of my 05' in action. it should give ya an idea what your old car just couldnt do.

1/4 mile according to like "car and driver" is 13.5 or so. I ran a 13.21 when it was new with summer tires and now i cant run better than a 13.4 if my life depended on it. I drag mine at p.i.r and woodburn everytime i get a chance...

...but i gaurantee there is no record of a stock USDM STi running 12's. GAURANTEED!
