    New STi Owner

Hi, I just purchased me an 05 STi, black. Third black car I've owned so I know. I'm very mechanically inclined so mods will be following I sold my 99 C5 vette about 2 months it was modded out pretty good 440rwhp. I wanted a change from the V8 world and try my luck with 4cyl turbo. I once owned a 91 Mitsu GSX AWD turbo car, it was a blast to drive. I hope this STi brings the feeling back.

Grats on the car and I am sure you will enjoy the STI very much. I am sure it handles like a dream compared to your C5.

I hope you're joking or you left out the "handles like a dream in the snow compared to your c5". Because the vette would handle circles around the STI. lol.

No longer have the othe cars, but I do have some pics of the old rides. Need to do some detail work on the STi before I get pics of it.

This thing made 621rwhp, thanks to the supercharger. It was a beast to much power for stock rear end. Can't find the pic of the engine bay it was super clean.

    No actualy I wasn't joking.

Just looking at the turning circle of the 2 cars.

    STI
    Turning Circle 35.401 ft

    C5 vet
    Turning Circle 39.001 ft

Now I am no car expert so maybe these numbers don't mean anything but the only reason a C5 MIGHT be able to do circles around a STI is because it is just plain faster. But when it comes down to just plain handling, the STI is better because I said so.

Sorry to report guys, but my C5 handled better than the STi. However I had the suspension modded pretty good of the vette. I'm sure with some upgrades you can bring the STi up to par. C5 and STi are in a very different class shouldn't compare the two. STi is AWD/turbo, got to love it.

Just remember when exiting a corner, the more horses you have on a vet, the harder it is to control when giving it gas out of that corner. While in AWD, you don't have to worry much about fishtailing while punching it out of a turn. Oh and I can't see how it could handle better stock but with upgrades of course.

Welcome to the club Bet the looks you get are quite different in your STI than they were in the vette

Not sure about '99 C5 but current Vette's got the widest tires than any production vehicles. I highly doubt STI can outhandle a Vette even in stock form. It is a nice and fast car but like he said, it's completely different class. STI is just a fun car to drive. Plus, don't have much faith in reliability of GM cars.
