hey, im new to this forum. I am buying a WRX next week. Tell me if i got a good deal or not.

For 19,000:
04 WRX imprezza with 30k miles and clean title.
OEM STi body kit
OEM STi BBS wheels
OEM STi intercooler
OEM STi hoodscoop
OEM STi exhaust
HKS Downpipe/ uppipe
Gruppe-S JDM STi carbon fiber spoiler
Gruppe-S ECU
RSR titanium springs
Gruppe-S upgraded tranny

I say its a good deal. and my first post... yes!

First welcome to the club. Second buying a modded car can be risky. It says it has a Gruppe-S tranny find out if it's a RA gearset or what was actually done. The tranny would be my biggest fear, as a modded car usually indicates either abuse or hard driving. Unless you know the car or the seller I'd think long and hard before buying that.

Also the price is a tad bit high. I wouldnt pay anything over 17 for that car, mods will not help resale value and the seller should expect to eat most of their cost.

I would also be careful when buying a modded car, especially one w/ a new ECU and Transmission which I would assume means it was driven hard either on the track, drag, or street.

You can get into a 05 WRX w/ the upgraded interior and peace-of-mind from it not having mods for about $20,000 or a brand new 06 "TR" for about $22,000 or less.

I wouldn't touch that car. Look for something less abused/modified for the same or less money.

Yea... im buying it from a friend's friend. all the STI things on it are new, because he bought a STI two months after he bought the WRX. maybe I'll work on the price with him.

You need a turbo upgrade to match the STi gear your sporting.

I just asked about the tranny, he says its a STi Spec C tranny from Gruppe-S. I dont know anything about trannys... plz tell me some info about this... thanks

Find out if it's a six speed or five speed (or if you test drove it you should know). AFAIK the most commonly used tranny upgrades for 5 speed is the v6 RA gear set, which I dont think came in a spec c.

If it has a six speed tranny then it really changes my impressions on the car as the weak link has been fixed.

Then I'd venture to say it's not a spec c tranny...possible a RA gearset in a usdm housing. Like I said before if you dont know/understand the terms or the mods it's probaly not a good idea to buy the car. There are TONS of used wrx's to pick from.
