    Just Bought Two Subarus!

Just traded an '04 Yukon and an '04 RX-8 for a couple of Subarus. Didn't want to trade my baby(RX-8) but we were upside down on the GMC, and had to cash out some equity to pay it off. Our main motives were fuel savings and a decrease in monthly payments. We went to Teape Subaru in Ft. Worth, TX looking for a used Legacy wagon to test drive. We wanted to buy a used wagon and a used WRX for me. Well the dealer worked its magic, and we ended up with two new cars for about $100 a month more than we had planned. Not bad. The wagon is actually an '05, but for some reason hadn't sold. Possibly the color. It's a Legacy GT wagon in Gaurnet Red metallic. It's pretty much loaded, with leather, 6-disc, and a big ass sunroof. My new baby is '06 WRX TR in WR Blue. Only option was the auto dimming rearview mirror. I'm having a grrat time with it, but it's been hard to get used to after two years in the high revving, rotary powered Mazda. I am enjoying having torque again though. Haven't had that since my '98 Mustang GT. Anyway, I'm going to try to post some pics of both, and hope to talk to ya'll soon!

Double Scoobie Newbie. I like that. Learning that Subaru owners are just a bit different, kinda like Saab owners. Pretty cool cult to be in. I rarely pass another WRX without getting the thumbs up, peace or hang loose sign. Even get them in the Legacy sometimes. Still trying to learn how to upload pics from the harddrive. I'll figure it out here in a minute.

Nice and grats on the 2 cars! And of course welcome to the club!

Sorry to somewhat hijack this but what the the lower torque feel like? Does it just feel like it doesn't "pull" as much? I have always had a car with somewhat equal torque to hp and I have just going up in both.

Well, high revvers like the S2000 and RX-8 make their power at a very high RPM. In order to extract performance, you have to wind the thing up and basically drive it like you hate it. There is no lugging around and expecting it to move when you punch it. You have to wind it up and drop the cluch. The boxer in the Soob actually makes good power down low, so you can be lugging around at 2500, punch it, and go. Don't know if this makes sense if you haven't driven a rotary or v-tech. They are just different.
