    New Member-- Not subaru owner

Hey guys my name is Matt and I currently own a 2000 Hyundai Tiburon. Yes laugh it up lol. But I had plans to boost it but I wrecked it about 2 weeks ago. Its being repaired and Im thinking that I really would like to get rid of it and get a WRX. Id love to get the STI but insurance would r*pe me more than they are already. Iv always loved the 02-now WRX. Simply amazing and the amount of power you can squeeze out of them is great too. My pooper of a tiburon pushed 140hp stock lol. I was goin to boost it up to 300hp using t3super60 yes i know thats small compared to yall but o well. So im joining here to get some more info about these cars and to see what they are capable of. Im not new to the tuning world, just new to the subby world. or scooby or whatever yall call youselves lol. Ill try to post pics later of my blazingly slow tiburon lol.

    Thanks
    Matt

PS.. Im trying to sell the tiburon ASAP because there are some local wrx's for sale. I only want 02-03 for insurance purposes and the fact im not really wantin to go THAT far in debt lol Hope I did this into right

Garret T3 super60's are not really small. One of my previous cars was a Mazda Protege with a T3 setup and it made a good deal of power. I know a few people from my Mazda days who are near or into the 300hp range using that turbo.

www.cobbtuning.com - take a look there and read about the AccessPort. Most people should be happy with a Stage II WRX. Figure about 15k for the car used, then the 600 or so for the Cobb AP. Add on to that 300/600+ for a downpipe/turboback exhaust and don't forget you are going to want to upgrade the brakes and suspension as well. Once the modding bug bites - it's bad.

Thanks guys. It looks like this forum is goin to be very simular to my rdtiburon.com one. By that I mean the members on there are like family. We all helped each other out and didnt put up with any crap from people coming on there and being ignorant etc. I hope im not wrong bout my first impressions of this site lol.

As far as the modding bug goes i think i was bit at birth. My pops had an 01 cobra he just sold!!! I was already in the mist of purchasing my turbo parts. Im VERY impatient lol when I have an idea I want it done and I want it done NOW. I am power hungry but i would be happy with around 280-320 WHP and an upgraded suspension and call it a day.

There is my car domain page with pics of my tiburon completely stock and pics of the cobra

I am a fellow tiburon owner...or was untill I switched to a 06 WRX. My 2005 Tiburon GT was high in insurance and I think it is about the same as the WRX.

Welcome to the club and most of the people here will be like family...annoying and people you don't want to be around. (jk!...family hug! )
