New member, just bought '02 WRX

Hi guys, I was finally able to find a great used WRX at a good price. '02, just under 40k miles, completely stock and never modified, new tires and roof rack, very few scratches and dings. I've had it for a week or so and I already love it. I'm upgrading from a late 80's Benz 190E so the difference is awesome.

I'm considering buying a catless uppipe, and perrin or helix are some brands I'm considering. Mosly those two because I know people who are happy with those particular ones. Can you suggest any others? I'd like to get the best pipe for the money and I'd rather not gut the stock one. Also, is this an ok thing to do at almost 40k miles? A wise first mod? I don't plan on heavily modifying my wrx as it is a daily driver, but I want to add a little power

Oh, and it also had all the original badging, so I promtply took care of the 'subaru' badging on the back when I got home. I've read some threads and posts wondering if it's going to leave marks if you don't debage early in its life, but I was able to make it look like the badges were never there.

First off, congratulations on your car. Yes, the members will say that a catless up pipe is a good first power mod to reduce turbo lag by a few hundred rpm's. I would look into "ERZ" up pipes as well, i've heard good things about them. Lastly, good job on debadging an '02, I would've thought the shadowing would still be visible.

Welcome to the club and congrats on the new bugeye. I recently did my trunk and was hoping that there would be no evidence of the letters afterwards.

Thanks guys. I couldn't be happier with the car. As for the styling, I always used to make fun of the bugeyed wrxs for being a little ugly, but I'm actually starting to like it now
I did the foglight mod today (splicing a couple of wires so that you can get the foglights to stay on with high beams) and it turned out great.
