02 Blaze Yellow

Hey everyone, my name is Jimmy and im about to become an owner of an 02 Blaze Yellow WRX. Im lookin at a cobb stage 2 setup and then we'll see where we end up. This is my first awd turbo car so im i was wondering if anyone had anything that i absolutely need to know about WRX's (how to launch... etc) thanks

Congrats on the purchase.

Not only is the wrx a great car, but blaze yellow is a rather unique color as well.
As for things you should know about the wrx:

1) You may choose to add a BOV (blow off valve) but be weary because the wrx does not need an aftermarket BOV and many of them actually hurt your performance... There are only a few brands that will work well with the wrx.

2) Intakes are worthless.

3) Try not to launch your car too often until you learn how to drive it well. Launching a wrx (especially an 02') without knowing exactly how to do it correctly can result in tranny problems. To give you a head start; never and I mean NEVER step-side the clutch and if you are going to launch it slip the clutch.

4) When you see a fellow wrx/sti driver on the road, give a wave to him/her.
