I have joined the subaru family

Hey thought id get signed up on a WRX forum since ill be spending most of my time modding it now. Its just begging for it. Anyway my name is Ian, I live in the orlando, FL area and used to own a 2002 mazda protege. Sadly it was totaled about a month ago. I decided to replace it with a 2003 WRX. I must say its quite the increase in performance all around.

    old:

I was able to walk away from the accident luckily with only 5 stiches. The lady who hit me claimed she was going 35mph.

    new:

    Picked it up today
    -2003 WRX
    -59K miles
    -5-speed
    -AEM short ram
    -Short shifter
    -Tein S-tech springs
    -Possibly aftermarket sway bars
    -Jensen somethin headunit
-Absurdly large wing that will be taken off

Found it for $14,900 out in nowhere connecticut at a small dealer who was sellin it way cheap.

+2 for losing that wing and if you can find the stock airbox I'd recommand putting one in. Looks nice otherwise.

So the stock airbox is better than all the aftermarket intakes? How does that work?

When subaru tuned our cars they tuned it for a stock airbox. PERIOD. If you get a custom tune that accounts for the intake then you may see a gain in performace.
