    Allow myself to introduce.. myself

I just wanted to drop a quick introduction for the general community..

I have been the proud owner of a 2006 WRB WRX since February. Since then I have found this forum to be a tremendous resource of information. However I've been only observing posts and not taking part in the community so I decided it was time

As far as mods go, I recently installed an STi V-Limited Front Spoiler and COBB Catback. For someone who never had any experience modding a car before, I found these projects to be a good start off point. In the basement I also have a set of COBB Front/Rear Swaybars w/ Endlinks as well as a Cusco Rear Strut Tower Bar. All this will be installed later this week courtesy of Phoenix Performance.

I attached a couple of pics I took of the car over the weekend. I hope to become more involved with the community in the next couple of months!

Haha, Thanks. The car isn't lowered, and I'm already looking for every pothole, raised manhole cover, steep driveway on the road b/c of the lip. I ordered it with the additional rubber strip to prevent any under scrapes. All in all, the lip + stripping reduces the front clearance by 2 5/8". I'll be looking into VERY conservative drops, but don't worry I'll do my homework before posting questions

Very nice. Looks much like mine, give or take my wheels, tires, lowered suspension, and your lip, heh. Kudos, WRB FTW!

Lemme ask you a question.... my Rex is a daily commuter, 60 total miles a day, so fuel/mileage is a very sensitive thing to me. I am avoiding any APs since I have been informed that they "can" affect fuel consumption. Due to that, I cancelled all plans for TBE and AP. I am interested in the Cobb CB though. How does yours perform? I have heard sound clips and it is pretty throaty and not really fart-can at all, but does that hold true in person?

You aren't really going to find a fart can muffler for the WRX. Basically it's varying degrees of volume...with some smaller variation on tone.

This is because the nature of the boxer engine and the uneven headers.

I think the best way to answer this would be with creating a video clip of the exhaust. I think it would be the optimal solution to your question. I need to see if any of my cameras support video/audio captuing and then I could post it sometime next week.

My impressions of the exhaust is that it is not very loud at all. However, it is nowhere near as quiet as a stock setup (You can actually hear an exhaust as opposed to just the engine ). From up to 4000RPM, I find it to have a really 'wide' sound to it if that makes any sense. It sounds especially good while letting the engine 'tumble' (I think that's the correct terminology) in 2nd and 3rd gear, you get to hear all the pops and gurgles . It doesn't have the deepest tone, systems from Nvidia do sound deeper. I like this system a lot because it's appearance and tone compliments the direction I'm taking my car in (Modding the car while trying to keep an OEM Look and Feel). The installation was a snap, there were no problems with fitment. I had my dad drive the car past me a couple times and yes you can hear that boxer rumble.

Like I said, I think a video clip would do it justice. I'll try to post something in the exhaust thread hopefully by next week.
