i think it's worth it. the sound is cool and you don't have to spend a penny to do it. esay to do and you don't like it just put it back in. but you won't. no benefits from it, but it does sound cool. and don't bother with the gpmoto elbow, cause it covers up the sound. i had the elbow but it didn't sound any different. so i just took it out and ran a small piece of pvc pipe to the fender.

yeah i know theres no benefit to doing it other than the sound. Since i am on stock exhaust, would i even notice a difference though? is it any louder?

i've been wanting to do it, but i couldnt find a thread that had pictures along with the instructions. other than my old 1962 ford tbird, ive never really taken anything apart on a car. so tips are greatly appreciated ( sorry for thread hijacking! )

-clean your mass air flow sensor (if it has not been done in a while it will surely improve gas mileage) heres a link with directions $5 and 5 minutes to a better running car :)

-get rid of the cold air intake for sure, there is plenty of info on this site to justify this,,

-investing in an accessport or some other type of EM would also be a very good idea, just could be a tad costly.

Yea not only will the CAI hurt performance and possibly mileage day to day...it's bad for the longevity of the engine.

I have an 06 with the 2.5L...It's stage 2 and I don't think I've gotten less than 300 miles to a tank and I drive "spiritedly" pretty much all the time.

The only time I get less is at the track which then is about 5 mpg.

I check the actual gas mileage on nearly every tank resetting the trip odometer to measure the actual mileage divided by the # of gallons to fill.

I have consistently gotten similar or somewhat better mileage since using the AccessPORT versus stock.

I was at stage 1 for a time - the mileage increases were better than with stage 2. Stage 1 or 2 you should do at least as well versus stock.

Well think about it...with a tune, you have a much more efficient engine...granted you are in boost more and earlier with Stage 2 but is still more efficient so as long as you aren't crazy with the boost it should be the same or better.

Stage 1 is better than Stage 2 though at keeping mileage up.
