turbo question

So I think my 2002 WRX has a problem. I am not getting anymore boost, and a noise comes from my engine quite often (sort of sounds like a blow off vaule) So im thinking my Turbo is shot. I plan on getting it taken in and getting it looked at. Where can i find prices on turbos? Should i stick with the stock one or is it a better idea just to put the money into getting a better one. Thanks for your help

Might not be the turbo itself, but a boost leak...especially if it sounds like a bov on occasion. I'd trace your vacuum lines/seals/gaskets that are related to boost pressure. Yolu might find the problem and be able to fix it for a hell of a lot less than a new turbo.

If it is the turbo, I see VF series turbos on ebay often. Good luck.

Not all of us....but most. After all it would be kind of silly for ClubWRX if none of us had one.

Don't worry, you are not alone. I do not own a WRX or even a subaru atm but the best way to do something is to research first and then buy. Considering I am an impulse buyer, I would have to say 2 years of research is a set up for me!

Also considering I am only 18 I wont get myself a $20k car anytime soon without my parrents help. Although my dad is saying I should trade in my Tiburon for a manual of the same kind but if anything I will find a old WRX instead! (my dad wanted to buy me a manual in the first place but at the time I dispised driving so a manual wouldn't help me. Now I enjoy it almost more then I enjoy video games!)
