Just bought a Black '06 Saabaru Aero

This black beauty is 5 days old and I think I'm in love. I'll list the options first

    leather
    sunroof
cold weather package (I'm in NY)
Stick (why do they make an automatic ?)

I wanted the sport package but I couldn't find one nearby so I decided to just wait to upgrade the tires. If anyone is wondering why I went the saab route, my fathers a saab salesman so I got the employee price and the 4000 incentive SAAB is offering right now.

I'll be looking over the modding forum and such in the near future and learning a bit more, but I've been lurking here for a few weeks before I made my purchase. Just thought I'd say hi and introduce myself.

I'm living in white plains, ny currently so if anyone know about an autocrossing in westchester, ct, or nj lemme know

Just curious, and don't tell unless you really want to, but what did you end up paying for it? I am wondering because I didn't know if I should have went the SAAB route.

the sticker on my vehicle (msrp) was $30,500

    Supplier was 28,900

    Employee was 27,900

The 4000 from saab comes in after tax is applied, before financing

I got 1500 for my trade, and put 3 down, financed over 5 years at 6.2% .

I don't have the exact figures at my finger tips buy i'll edit this post later with the hard data.

PS: I have 900 miles on it now after trips to troy,ny ... atlantic city,nj ... and danbury,ct twice. I've been driving it with 93 octane, keeping it reigned in for the most part (took it up to 5k a few times in 2nd and 3rd, but no clutch drops). Should I be worried and take it easy for a while on the car ? damage done? nothing to be overly concerned about?

I've varied rpm's on the highway switching to 4th to pass most of the time. Any other tips on oil changes, rpms, and such are appreciated. I did a search on break ins and read a bit but there are a ton of posts and everyone says different things =/

Hey, first welcome. 2nd, where in NY are you from? I see you mentioned Danbury, im from Somers, NY (westchester county).

Make sure you never use anything less than 93 (91 out west). Driving the car a lot will not hurt it, just make sure you dont abuse the car by racing, etc.

    Break in procedure...

0-1,000mi - do not exceed 4,000rpms (your few times isnt damaging), vary rpm's, do not floor the gas pedal, expect the car to smell after driving (new clutch + particles sprayed on the engine for transportation burning off).

1,000 mi - get an oil change (this is done to flush out any particles that may of gotten into the oil during break in.

3,000 mi - 2nd oil change, continue this forever.

Yep, that is about how I broke mine in too. I should probably do that oil change to get rid of the gunk. I actually just posted about me going over the 1000 mile mark http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/showth...97#post1570297

Really? Who?! Honestly I can't think of a single Saab owner on here!

We got Cobras, Evos, SRT-4's, Mustang GTs, Vettes, even a Honda Accord Hybrid...but I don't recall any Saabs!!?
