    News to me... I mounted mine in just fine with no additional items outside of the aftermarket speakers... You only need to do such a thing if you are mounting in speakers spaller than factory locations....

    6.5s up front...
    5.25z in the rear...

    Depth wise the rear isnt really a worry.... however up front....

    Too deep and your window will hit the magnet when you lower it all the way.... nice way to screw stuff up.... I find for sound quality and fit these are real winners.... AWESOME PRODUCT!!!

    Dont do spacers... spacers in our cars (old door style) = ghetto... Your surround on the speaker will hit the door and over time wear out.... And yes..... thats even with trimming the rear of the panel... which is also ghetto....
