Soon to be 06 Rex Owner

Well either friday or saturday i should be the proud owner of a 2006 Obsidian Black WRX Limited, with the beige interior. (by the way...anyone got some pics of a Black 06 with the beige leather?) In this whole process I've also convinced my best friend to buy an 06 Rex, so he should be a new owner with in the next few months. Also has anyone heard of a Subaru dealership leting prospective costumers do a 24 hours test drive?

If I recall Subaru did do a 24 hour test drive thing a few years ago, but you could bet your last dollar any of the turbo platforms were the exemption.

A new member just posted pics in another thread with his black/beige 06

Wow thanks for the fast reply, but the pic isnt showing for me. I'm using Opera and viewed in IE and it still wont work. Also what differences are there between the TR and the Regular WRX....i've been thinking about just saving the 3 grand and getting the TR.

Going off the top of my head the difference between the WRX and TR's are as follow:

    WRX gets:
    6 disk changer
    painted sideskirts/mirror skins
    Climate Control
    Fog Lights
    Different seats
    Rear Cup Holders
    Better Stereo

    The LTD gets:
    Leather
    Heated mirrors
    Heated Wipers
    Heated Seats
    Fog lights
    Std spoiler
    Std Sunroof

In short, the TR has none of those, but is still a good car for the price. Also, the TR is about 200 lbs. lighter than the WRX. (My, my those cupholders weigh alot! lol).

Oh, and formally: and welcome to The Club!!!!

The TR has painted side skirts - just not the STI-style side skirts like the regular WRX. The WRX also has the aluminum racing pedals and mats with the WRX logo on them.

Other than these points, your list is complete.

Edit: Here's a pic of my '06 WRX TR showing the painted side skirts

I wish. Subaru lists the weight as being the same as the regular WRX (3,192lbs) - this isn't in reality true as the regular WRX is carrying extra covenience items which definitely add weight (6 disc cd changer, fog lights, auto climate control system), but I doubt the difference is anything more than 10-15lbs.

Not to bad off the top of my head I guess, and yeah the sideskirts are different. I dont think my mats have the wrx logo on them, but they havent been out of the trunk in like 6 months so I'm not 100% sure.
