Hi y'all, Just bought a 2003 WRX Wagon last month, 50Kmi on it. Just love it! I've already taken it thru some twisties at speeds I'd have never tried in my 96 300ZX Twin Turbo for fear of that fat-assed beast would let go with no warning. (getting tail-happy in a 4000lb car is NO fun, lemme tell you!) My WRX is like a cat on carpet in comparison. This car is the most fun-to-drive car I've ever owned! Only my wife's Miata has it on the fun factor, and that's only because of the drop-top.

I have made friends with the local Subie dealer. They have confirmed my vehicle has had all the recalls done.

At this mileage, are there any maintenance items/issues to watch out for? I am gentle on the turbo, I run Mobil 1 synthetic and always let it cool down.

Also, those of you with the Cobb AccessPort: How has it been driving with it? Performance/reliablility/drive-quality? Is it really worth the $600? Does it do any more than tweek the waste-gate?

    Cheers,
    Rob

Greetings and welcome to the club!

Yes, the AccessPORT is worth the $600 IMO. It is a great first mod to build off of.

It has been very reliable and makes the WRX run smoother than stock.

Thanks for the reply. "Runs better than stock" ??? Really!? Can you be a little more specific as to how? How much of a power boost do you feel? And do you feel it is in any way excessive? And regarding the "security mode", do you use it and do you feel at all that just having a fuel pump kill switch installed would be easier?

    and welcome to The Club!!!!

I do not have a Cobb AP, but I've heard nothing but positive reviews of the engine management! Definitely search around the forum a bit because there is LOTS of information on Cobb mods, as the AP is the most popular.

Also, post up some pics of your subie!
