Picked up a like new 02 wagon in red saturday with 47,000 mi for $15,800. Got it at Motor Werks in Barrington IL. They have a perfect record with the Better Business Bureau, the best by far of the six or seven dealerships I checked out. I think I got a good deal, not a steal but one thats fair for them and me.
I almost bought a black sedan with about the same number of miles for $15,600 the night before from a Subaru dealership, that was a better deal, that car had brand new tires and came with an extended warranty but I wanted to think about it over night and the next morning the salesman called me and told me someone had driven in from Ohio and bought it as soon as the doors opened. That's ok, even though it was a better deal I'd rather have a red wagon than a black sedan.
I've never spent anywhere near this much money on a car and I had some buyer's remorse the first night but sunday I took it for a long drive on the interstate and country back roads. Jeesh, what a car. It's almost too good. It's so easy to drive at high speeds it sort of takes the thrill out of it, you have to go triple the speed limit before you really feel like you're on the edge, barely in control. This thing is just rock steady. What a car.
