Sorry about the no pics. I will post pics asap. Weather here has turned to total crap. My old 2004 Tiburon GT would've been sliding all over the place in this wet weather. Traction and understeer were definitly two of it's week points. That's right I had a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon GT 6spd. I loved this car but I like the WRX a lot better. I'm on day 1 of driving and I'm lov'n it. I have a lot to learn about with the WRX. My first focus is going to be exhaust. I already have a Greddy EVO 2 from my Tibby. I was thinking of just taking it to a shop and having a custom single exhaust done. What do you guys think? I need to learn some new terminology too. There are a few things I find a little confusing just because I've never dealt with a turbo charged car before. Like how does my up pipe and down pipe fit into my exhaust layout. I'm assuming one is on the intake side and one is on the exsit side. Once I find a good graphic or picture I should be straight....and of course this is my first boxster engine. I'm fairly mechanically incline so I'm looking forward to learning some new stuff. I have plans for only three intial mods to get started with and they are a course the simple ones: exhaust, intake, and short throw shifter. I like the way my WRX shifts but I think it can be a little smoother. I would like headers but that will have to wait till I learn a little bit more about this engine.

From everything I've read on this forum, an intake is actually bad on a WRX as it messes with the MAF sensor and can cause the car to run lean..but exhaust and some engine management...that's on the right track.

P.S. Welcome to the club, it's a very helpful bunch.

Yeah, scrap the intake. A TBE is a great way to start.

Before you start modding, here are some links I suggest you check out!

And here's great coverage of FAQs from NASIOC.

Yes, what Speedette said. Check out the site, it has a lot of info on mods and stuff. You should also consider getting some sort of engine management. I have done some research myself and looking into getting the Cobb AP. But you might think differ.

Awesome choice, that's what I've got! It's even better, post break-in.

On another note, I think a Turbo-back exhaust leads to boost creep on the 06 (TBE). Correct me if I'm wrong. Besides that enjoy a sleek-quick ride!

Welcome! I did the same thing, I traded in my F150 for an Aspen White '06 WRX...but mine is still 3 weeks away! I hate waiting! These forums and NASIOC are a wealth of information. Just be sure to make good friends with the search function. I guess it's good that I have to wait for my car...gives me time to look and learn about the car before messing something up. I get to read posts on how to do it correctly rather than writing posts on how to fix my problem.
