    New '06 Owner

Hey all, don't let the name or join date confuse you, I'm now the owner of a '06 WR Blue WRX. Traded in my Redline for it on Saturday. Not looking to mod too much yet, but i'll be on here paying attention to what others are doing with their '06s and what seems to help the most for stuff. I'm looking at all the Cobb stages for different things, thinking the suspension items might go on first and the performance stages can wait til next summer?? But just wanted to introduce myself and say hello.

Hard to go wrong with Cobb products, IMO.

    Welcome.

I think if I had an '06 I would definately do some suspension mods first. The 2.5L motor runs pretty darn good right out of the box.

Well there is without a doubt room for improvement, but IMO you really need to do a turbo upgrade to really get much more horsepower out of the thing.

Welcome to the club. It is a great car to start with and plenty of room for improvement once the mod bug bites you.

Interesting...I just noticed that Cobb doesn't seem to have a published VF30/34 map for the '06, yet. Given the awesome torque that their '06 Stage 2 map seems to make, I'd like to see what would happen with the bigger snail.

Thread showing there results from NASIOC.

The 18g map results are posted there too. Not sure if it is the final map though. Looks like the peak TQ is about the same, but it come on a little later and drops off slower. Strangely the 18g and VF39 maps are yielding almost the exact same curves.

Did you get the TR, Reg, or the LTD. I have a wrb 06 ltd and I love mine (most of the time) good luck and by all means focus on the suspension first....it has enough power already to make you uneasy on the stock ride.

Pics will hopefully coming today, depending on how much daylight is around after work, and suspension one of the first things i'm looking to do, after the cobb shortshifter/bushings/trans mount stage thing. Then after a few months of saving, the Cobb suspension stage 2 will probably go on. I'm thinking i'll leave any big power stuff til next spring. And its the TR edition, though I wanted the sunroof.
