    Hmm..Im about to pick up an 06. Should I worry much? Is the same width as the 04-05's bad? :| Sorry if thats a really nub question. Ive heard about ppl throwing out their tranny's w/ too much power but I though that was mainly on the bugeyes. Im prolly wrong though.

    Nah, it was primarily with the bugeyes. Their gears were really weak, which made the scrutiny on later models that much harder. Since '04, I'd say the transmissions aren't worse than most production cars in the same class, but the glaring problems with the earlier models make the problems that exists much more apparent. I hope that makese sense!

    It's not really an issue for the bugeyes unless you're a hard launcher. My old bugeye had a VF34'd engine and I ran with the stock tranny for many thousands of miles with zero problems.

    Err, I don't own a blobeye.
    As for the '02 wagon I got back in January; no, I haven't done any true launches on it. I've done the slip clutch hammer drop a few times..

    i believe there's a taller final drive on the '06 to compliment the larger engine, and first gear gets dual cone synchros (finally!). i'm not sure if the gearing remained the same.
