Drove past a 2015 WRX, turned around and bought it.

Background- I'm 30 years old and this is now my 9th vehicle. Some of the highlights include a big turbo Eclipse, a tuned SRT4, a bagged S10, and I just traded in my Hyundai Veloster R-Spec due to PA getting killed with snow and that car being terrible in it.

I've been researching 2016 WRXs, talking with local dealers and the forums own Clayton Manttell. Was going to take a trip to NJ on Wednesday and see Clayton. I was driving to Baltimore on Friday night, about 8:30pm at night, and I'm driving past a used dealership across the street from the new dealership. I see a new body style WRX sitting at the used lot. I quickly turn around and pull in. I'm just peeking in the window of it, and next thing I know, three hours later, I'm driving home in it. I didn't expect to buy the car, but it felt like fate.

It's a 2015 Silver WRX Premium. Had 27,000 miles on it, one owner who traded up for a new Jeep Grand Cherokee. Unmolested, 100% stock. I bought it for $24,000 (they had it listed for $27,500). A little higher than I wanted (I was aiming for $23,000) but whatever. They took my Veloster, and I have to take back all the stock parts (exhaust, intake, springs) for them to install back on and I'll get my aftermarket stuff back to make some extra money. Only pain in the ass is I'm on a MD temporary tag, have to wait for my PA registration, and have to get it inspected and pay PA sales tax.

This is my first AWD vehicle. My first Subaru. I'm very excited. I don't have any major modification plans; just tint, sound system, LED interior lighting and an axleback to get a little rumble. Apparently, unlike my Veloster, Eclipse, or SRT4, doing a turbo back exhaust requires a tune, so I'm just gonna go for an axelback. I'm going to do the Nameless with 4" muffler.

I'm a forum veteran, I won't post dumb questions, I know how to lurk and search. Just wanted to say hello. Any local south central PA people, hopefully we'll see each other around.

Here's a pic of the car:

just razzin ya! We are twins, same car here just one year newer. I have a 50% tint only because our troopers actually enforce that crap here in Minnesota. Not sure of your laws if any.

some people choose to park it in the winter and "save" it. thats a shame though because these are great winter cars, you'll enjoy it. Congrats and welcome.

Glad to see people still willing to buy used for only a few thousand dollars less then what you could have bought new.

    Whoops, redundant sentence is redundant

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. I'll continue lurking here and reading everything. I realized my car has the dimming rear view mirror with home link, the rear bumper appliqué (I feel French) and had the all weather mats and trunk mat. I just dropped way too much on audio. The stock system is terrible.

Am I just an idiot or is the backup camera crooked? Backing up while using it, I never end up parallel with the parking lines. The camera is offset and tilted... I guess I need to get used to the adjustments.

    ^came here to say this^

Your WRX will most likely do worse in snow than your veloster (Because of the high performance summers that come on the WRX)

    Congrats and Welcome!
