It's all the same. Same oil companies, same handling and storage requirements (by federal law).

    I use whatever is cheapest.

This, as long as i've never had an issue with the gas there before. What I didn't fully realize at first is how hard it is to find 93 outside of Milwaukee!

Pretty much right. All the gas is stored at the same place in the same big gas tanks.

However I thought the difference was each company may add their own detergent or whatever to differentiate themselves. You know you see those commercials and all about cleaning fuel injectors, blah blah.

My rule is if I have a choice go to a known station instead of a very unknown name. But if traveling I get whatever.

I live in the DC Metro area and you can get 93 at every station and 94 at I believe Sunoco. In general it's 87, 89 and 93 or 87, 91 maybe and 93. Costco it's only 87 and 93.

I go to Shell only because they partner with Giant grocery stores to get you 10 cents off a gallon per $100 spent a month at Giant.

Again, this. Many members go to the "big boy" gas stations for piece of mind. Smaller stations sometimes don't have as rigid a maintenance structure as some of the larger stations, which is why. But the gas itself is all the same. Smaller stations buy their gas from the larger oil companies anyway. If you buy, say, Delta or Wawa brand gas, it could very well be Sunoco gas.

For me, I usually go to a local BP or Sunoco, but Shell is my 3rd choice. BP is cheapest around here and gets good ratings. Plus the people at the station are friendly.

Don't different brands add their own "detergents, conditioners, cleaners, etc"? You see it advertised all the time.

I go with Sunoco when I can.
    Not so much anymore.

I get whatever's the most convenient.. unless the station next door is >$0.20/gal cheaper, I rarely check prices though.

This isn't a "new thread". It's been discussed to death in hundreds of other threads. I did answer your question, though. Fred Meyer 92 octane (best you can get in Oregon). I get $0.10 off every other fill or so with their loyalty program, their prices beat the competition, plus it's right on my commute route.
