    Deciding on Letting Go

My 1998 Outback is gradually hitting the wall, more repairs coming, not sure if I might have gotten to the end-game, while I'm sad to see it go it might now be time to move on and replace with either a used WRX, or a newish Impreza... the lack of the 5-door on the new WRX's is a deal-breaker for me, sadly.

Are the newest base imprezas actually returning 27/36 mpg or is that a slightly optimistic assessment? Anyone know with some certainty?

My GF's crosstrek consistently sees 33MPG. I would expect the new impreza to see approximately the same.
