Hey thanks! quick question. The person before me put the sti front lip and side skirts. Im not really digging the side skirts, but am worried if I remove it there might be some ugly rust/foreign material stuck there. Anyone have experience with that?

Take them off and send them to me. Ill gladly take them off your hands! Im not too sure about our generation wrx's. I know my old 2006 wrx had the sti side skirts and I took one off one day and there were holes where the side skirt attached on the side of the car there. Im not sure if these attach in a similar fashion, or if they attach on the bottom of the car, where if you removed them you wouldnt notice. As far as rust or anything goes there shouldnt be any. At most you might have to clean the car up a little bit as there may be some dust etc.

Ahhh they are attached from the bottom of the car with 4 bolts. Shouldn't be too bad. Also the car only has 19000 miles on it and the front is in pretty good shape. Thoughts on 3m film?

I did it on my 2013 WRX it was well worth it. I didn't get it on the Impreza I bought new for my mom. I just finished touching up front of her hood, and adding a Subaru front deflector. Only issue I run into is getting wax where plastic meets hood. But just wipe it off no big deal. And Congrats on your dream car. We all know that feeling.

Thanks! Got a couple more questions actually (not sure if this is the right forum to do it)

    1) Car came with an SPT exhaust (somewhat loud). Is that normal? Fiance says its a bit too loud when I turn it on in the garage. Came from a 2012 TSX so there is a big difference.

2)I want to plug in my radar detector into the auto dim mirror circuit. Anyone have a diagram for that so I dont get my ground wrong?

    3) Anyone have a good brand for back up camera? Got a Pioneer NAV deck and feel like it would be good to have one.

    4) How can you tell there is a short shifter inside (Super noob question) besides driving it.

Thanks for all the help! Please let me know if I am in the wrong forum too!

SPT exhaust is a factory add on. Kind of common. It is very quiet, but it is a loud car, even the stock exhaust is considerably loud at cold start. Love the rumble and tell the fiance to get over it .
My wife accepts my terrible car obsession now.
The side skirts could be held on by 3m tape in addition to screws, so be careful
