    Goodbye E46, Hello WRX!

Hello everyone, name's Mike and from the bay area and I'm happy to be a new Subaru owner! Traded in my 2002 jet black BMW 325i for a 2011 satin pearl white Subaru WRX yesterday! Drove 144 miles to pick up my new WRX and it was definitely worth the drive.

I'll miss my E46 but am really happy with the upgrade. One thing I miss already though was my bimmers suspension. This stock suspension on the Subie has to go.

I don't think I'm going to do coilovers this time. Maybe just spring/strut combo. Koni yellows with either Swift sport springs or RCE blacks? Can't wait to start modding.

Anywho, looking forward to being a part of this community!

Welcome congrats on the Satin White Pearl (SWP) if for some reason there was no WRB I would have gone with SWP. Any options on the car?

Thank you! It's the base model. I was supposed to check out a premium one yesterday at a different dealership but they sold it the day before. I found this one posted on Yahoo Aiutos and jumped on it. Drove 2+ hrs to get it.

Thank you! My plans for the car so far are:

Suspension upgrade as I mentioned in my 1st post (including front and rear sways. Kartboy endlinks)
Window tint. Got burnt by the sun on the drive home yesterday.
    Perrin catback exhaust
    Accessport
    AEM CAI

Not sure what else? Any suggestions? Pro tune?

If you plan on going protune talk to the shop.first and see if they need you to get an accessport. Get some plastidip for the chrome window trim or order a vinyls cover for it and maybe at the same time get a wrap for the silver trunk trim if you are not a fan of it. Maybe a short throw and some bushings a new HU (not sure how much you drive) i havent heard Perrin's cat back but for the same price I would go with invidia or for a little more ARK.

It really all depends on what you are looking to get out of it.
Seems like a good list though.
Can't wait to see it come along.

Cool, I'll be sure to ask the shop first before shelling out $650 for an AP. Yeah, was planning on wrapping that trunk trim for sure. Kartboy short shiifter and bushings are in the plans as well.

Invidia Q300 is also cheaper than the Perrin... I'll most likely get one of them. Do you know which of the 2 has less cabin drone?

Well that a why they invented dynamat but no sorry I don't I have the spt and I like it. I didn't notice the drone until I took a trip to TX. Im in my car 2hrs a day and I don't mind I like a louder exhaust. There are plenty of exhaust options for our years just check them out on YouTube and go to some car meets. If you ever get a downpipe catted/catless it will deff be louder

The Q300 is quieter than the Perrin exhaust. IMO it has a decidedly better note as well.

2 nice looking cars there. Love the E46. Excellent color choice on the WRX though.

Leaning towards the Q300 with TI tips now.

I painstakingly listened to dozens of youtube and other audio recordings over and over (at very high volumes with a long throw sub) of the Q300 vs the Perrin CBE since I had no way of getting a real world listen. I ended up going with the Perrin and don't regret it at all. Cabin drone was harsh for 500 miles and then it just disappeared one morning. Either that or I just don't notice it anymore. Same difference, eh?
    Not so much anymore.
