Welcome to ClubWRX! I am guessing that you are getting a new 2015? Congrats! I am sure you will love it! Be sure to post up pics once you recieve it. And if I were you I wouldnt go to heavy on the mods as of yet, at least anything outside of factory add-ons such as sti short throw shifter, fog lights, stuff like that. Exterior mods would be ok too. But I would give it a year or so before I did anything performance, reason being that you dont want to void your warranty! The new 15' wrx is all new, new engine, turbo, tranny, and numerous other things plus all of the electronic add-ons. There is bound to be some sort of warranty claims done to fix things or a recall of some sort, like many other new generation cars.

What Year? If it is the 2015 WRX you have to wait like I am for the mods to come out. If it is the SIT, then you can get just about anything right now.

Yes new 2015 WRX. I can't wait for it!! and yes that true I will wait a year for engine. mainly was looking at tint and maybe motegi rallycross rims for now.

Is the STI short throw upgrade worth it?

My 2013 came with the SPT short throw on it. its a linkage instead of the lever but its a noticable difference. even more-so if you do get a lever later.
2013 WRX sedan - MODS = pretty much every bolt on besides a bigger turbo.

Hmmm okay I will have to look into that then. It is weird how the 2015's don't come stock with those, everywhere I look they didn't have them.

    Sport package comes with:

    STI Short-throw shifter
    STI wheels
    STI exhaust

I thought about getting the package and the dealer said that it was unavailable due to the exhaust needing to be redesigned?

Another salesman thought that maybe they were just out of stock.

    IDK.

I did get the short throw shifter though and am interested to here it compared/contrasted with the standard shifter. (and a honda Si shifter for that matter, as I currently own a '09 Si and love the gearbox).

Well I would be very upset if the exhaust they offer in the Package was being redesigned due to an issue. I need to read more on this. Thanks for stating that.

i would avoid the SPT exhaust if possible. mine came on the car as well. it wasnt very loud at all, and it was SUPER heavy. plus it was way overpriced. im much happier with my invidia N1 Race
